Anya Luke-Killam

Anya is originally from San Jose, California. Soon after moving to the Seattle area in 2005, she began working in the Public Health Sciences Division at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Anya provided comprehensive document support for the Youth Smoking Studies Research Group prior to joining the HVTN in March 2008.

Anya's educational background is in cognitive science and linguistics. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa, and graduate degrees from San Jose State University and UC San Diego. In graduate school, she was very interested in visual communication, language evolution, and information processing. She has also completed the certificate program in User-Centered Design through the Department of Technical Communication at UW. When she's not editing documents, Anya enjoys spending time with her hyperactive cat, Maximillian.
