Admin Assistant I

The Administrative Assistant provides efficient administrative support to the HANC project, the HANC Project Manager and HANC Director to ensure that the project operates smoothly. The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organized and flexible to meet the changing administrative support needs of a dynamic and complex project. Major duties include conference call and meeting coordination, e-mail alias list and calendar management, and general office support.
Admin Assistant I

Assists and performs general administrative and secretarial duties for the heads of the Communications and External Relations, Regulatory Affairs and Protocol Development units within the HIV Vaccine Trials Network. Carries-out moderately complex special assignments or projects. Responsible for coordinating administrative, logistical and technical aspects of the various units with in the HVTN. The incumbent works with minimal supervision and is expected to use initiative and sound judgment in carrying-out responsibilities within the framework of the HVTN policies and procedures. May coordinate the work of other staff and HVTU volunteers.
Assistant Member/Associate Member

The Vaccine and Infectious Disease Institute and Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center invite applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Member level, with preference being given to those who study molecular immunology as it relates to HIV vaccines, pathogenesis and mucosal immunology. MD or PhD qualification is required.
HANC Project Director

The HANC Project Director provides leadership and strategic direction for all of the cross-network coordination activities that the HANC project encompasses. The Director is expected to work closely with the Network leaders and DAIDS to develop and implement strategies to coordinate activities and optimize collaboration between the networks and DAIDS and other funding and operational partners. These additional partners include but are not limited to other researchers and scientific networks, community organizations, industry partners, vendors and regulatory bodies. The role requires strategic thinking and planning to identify the areas in which collaboration could provide optimal benefit, exploring opportunities and developing consensus with the Network leaders and DAIDS regarding which to pursue, initiating the implementing strategies and developing guidelines for evaluating HANC activities.
Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

The Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS Research and Prevention, under the direction of Dr. Steve Self, seeks energetic and creative candidates with Ph.D.s in Statistics/Biostatistics or related fields for two year postdoctoral positions. The successful applicants will work on a mix of methodological and applied problems in HIV vaccine research that is motivated by an extensive and vibrant program of collaborative research with outstanding clinical and laboratory researchers and funded by NIH and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Potential research areas include (but are not limited to) analysis of viral genome diversity and vaccine design, analysis of longitudinal/functional biomarkers and their relationship with viral replication, computational and statistical methods for the analysis of complex high-dimensional immunologic data and the use of causal inference techniques in vaccine trials. There is a potential for interaction with multiple faculty members within the FHCRC Programs of Biostatistics and Biomathematics and Computational Biology. Ph.D. in statistics/biostatistics or closely related field required.
Scientific Writer/ Technical Editor II

The Scientific Writer provides assistance to the PI of the HIV Vaccine Trials Network Laboratory and Co-Director of the Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Institute in the planning, writing, editing, and production of a variety of scientific and technical documentation. S/he is responsible for production and editing of highly specialized technical and scientific material for publication, including journals, manuscripts, technical manuals, grant applications, posters, presentations, etc., ensuring that all materials meet established standards of appearance and content. The Scientific Writer works under limited supervision and uses discretion within existing guidelines and standards.
Staff Scientist

The Vaccine and Infectious Disease Institute and Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center invite applications for a staff scientist position with the HIV Vaccine Trials Network Laboratory Program, with preference being given to those who study molecular immunology as it relates to HIV vaccines, pathogenesis and immunology. Applicants must qualify at the M.D. or Ph.D. level. The individual will be responsible for managing the internal and external ancillary studies and data analysis resulting from the HVTN 502 (STEP) and related clinical trials.

The Staff Scientist will be responsible for the coordination of laboratory studies related to adenovirus 5 vaccine products with multiple groups within and outside of the HVTN. These activities will include engaging with the STEP Study Scientific Review Committee and sub-study team leaders, tracking project milestones, maintaining communications with investigators and HVTN leadership, coordinating regulatory reviews and legal agreements, and other duties as required in support of the Ad5 laboratory studies project.

Staff Scientist (Senior Clinical Trials Physician)

The Senior Clinical Trials Physician plays a key role in providing scientific oversight and project management for the development and implementation of HIV vaccine trials. Manage multidisciplinary teams organized around the development and implementation of HIV vaccine protocols In collaboration with Network Principal Investigators, provide scientific review and input into concept and protocol development. Manage timelines for protocol development and implementation, to assure timely start dates for HIV vaccine protocols.
