Katie
Technical Editor

Katie has a B.A. in English, a Masters of Library and Information Science, and a Certificate of Technical Writing and Editing. She has written online rock reviews for The New York Times, worked in a high school library, managed dusty architectural archives, and edited content for techie websites. After living in Manhattan for a number of years—where she attended Barnard College and developed an appreciation for authentic bagels and public transportation—Katie moved to Seattle in 2003 in pursuit of better weather (really), cheaper rent, and proximity to nature. At the HVTN, she edits and maintains templates for lab protocols, consent forms, article manuscripts, and other documentation. Katie has also been known to correct the grammar on restaurant menus and street signs.
