Marta received her Ph.D. in 2002 in Immunology studying HIV pathogenesis in animal models. At the HIV Vaccine Trials Network, Marta's responsibilities include coordinating the assays that will be performed for any given protocol with the different laboratories. Along with other members of the Laboratory Operations Division, Marta helps supervise the implementation of protocols from the laboratory prospective. She is also involved in studies at the Central Laboratory assessing specimen handling and validation for ELISPOT and ICS assays. Around the office, she is probably most known for her colorful personality, wardrobe, and her abilities as a secret agent.
