Supporting the Next Generation of Scientists and Leadership
The HIV Vaccine Trials Network is committed to supporting the next generation of scientists and leaders in the field of HIV vaccine research. To that end, the HVTN operates several mentorship and award programs intended for scientists and researchers at various career levels. In addition, the HVTN hosts the annual Translational HIV Vaccine Early Investigator (ESI) Conference. Scholar Awards
In collaboration with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, the HVTN offers a Research and Mentorship Program (RAMP) to medical students providing structured mentorship and project funding.
Scientific Leadership Development
The Scientific Leadership Development program identifies emerging leaders of the HVTN and commits resources to their professional development with the goal of expanding the pool of scientists capable of successfully leading HIV vaccine clinical trials.
Scientific Pilot Awards
Designed for early stage investigators, these pilot awards will fund investigators to engage in research at their sites.
Translational HIV Vaccine Early Stage Investigator (ESI) Conference
Each Fall, the HIV Vaccine Trials Network hosts the Translational HIV Vaccine Early Stage Investigator Conference. Investigators participating in the conference will gain a sense of their ability to contribute widely to the field and obtain support in reaching career milestones.
